Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Madre de Dios #2068

Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas (JCDA), is our youth program for girls ages six (6) through eighteen (18), and functions under the umbrella of the St. Andrew Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) court.  The Juniorettes, also known as the "Jetts" are ages 6 - 10. The Juniors are ages 11 - 18.

JCDA offers our young ladies a great opportunity to engage themselves in spiritual growth, leadership, and service while they remain under the protective umbrella of our Catholic faith!

The JCDA motto is "Be Useful" with the mandate to "love God, serve others, and live nobly."

JCDA members have four basic goals operating under the motto of Message, Service and Community:

  • Develop character as a Catholic
  • Learn to work for the good of others
  • Grow spiritually in their Catholic faith
  • Be creative and flexible

JCDA members are the present and the future of CDA, our Church, and society. JCDA has provided outstanding services to its members and has played an important role in the Catholic youth community.

Some of our activities here at St. Andrew’s include:

  • Hosting the Bean Bag Toss booth at our annual Bazaar.
  • Participating with our mother court “CDA” in the Port of Houston International Seafarers Center Christmas shoeboxes by donating and filling essential items for seafarers visiting the Port of Houston, during the Christmas season.
  • Hosting Baby Food and Diaper Drive for needed organizations, “Our Daily Bread” or “Gabriel Project”.
  • Hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for Children preparing for 1st Holy Communion.
  • Hosting Receptions for Our Pastors.
  • Attending the Bi-Annual JCDA State Convention.
